CRIMES AGAINST PROPERTY ARE ON THE RISE IN INDIANA
SECURITY SYSTEMS - BURGLAR ALARMS
Security Systems for Homes, Busnisses, Churches, Farms, Camps, Warehouses, Government Buildings, etc. SWAT has installed security alarm systems for the past two decades, in central and southwestern Indiana. We have protected everything from sheds to multi-million dollar residences, to hudreds of thousand square foot warehouses and factories. Our niche and main concern, however, is the small business, or single-family residence. We offer both hard-wired and wireless security systems.
Hardwired systems mean just what the name implies: There are physical wires running from each device to a central control. Wireless means that radio transmission is the means for the signal to get from the device to the central control. Many of the systems we install are Hybrid - actually a hardwired control panel with wireless capability.
It is essential that all perimeter doors are protected, either by physical door contacts or space protection that covers many doors with one device.
To back up perimeter protection, we recommend interior motion detectors to create trap areas, so that in intruder must pass through one of these "traps" to access any thing vital.
Protection that relies solely on a telephone line is becoming a threatened situation. The telephone line can always get cut, thus rendering the system useless. Even if the phone line is not cut, You, the Alarm USER, may make transmission impossible. If you have installed DSL on your phone line, a special DSL filter, designed for alarm systems must be installed, or your system will not transmit. Many folks have decided to save money by getting rid of their phone lines (from the phone company) and going to V.O.I.P. - Voice ove Internet Protocol. When you do this, your alarm sysstem becomes useless, unless you install cellular communications. SWAT strongly recommends that cellular transmission capabilities be added to systems.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS
All NEW houses, and most existing homes are equipped with smoke detectors to alert the occupants in case of fire. But these, at best, work when they are new. After years of "just being there" they tand to be a false sense of security. 20 % fail to work: Fail to detect due to dead batteries; Batteries need to be checked often; They are non-monitored; There is No immediate response to an emergency; Most popular technology responses slow to respond to most home fires. If electricity is off, your detector may not function.
With SWAT Professionally installed and Monitored Fire Alarm System, with Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: You get 24-Hour Monitoring; Emergency Help is called, even when you can't call; We can maintain your detectors for you; Batteries are supervised and we will know when it is time to be replaced; You get UL-listed detectors; Photoelectric technology provides earliest warning to most common fire types.
In Industrial and business buildings,
Sprinkler Monitoring provides supervision of water flow, as well as supervsion of valves, water and air pressure, and low temperature conditions. Such supervision of these devices is essential to maintaining a safe secure environment.
Manual pull station alarms provide a means for building occupants to signal a fire warning for other building occupants, as some exit the building. Both Audible and visual indicating devices alert building occupants in order to evacuate the building, while the monitoring service alerts the proper Fire Department.
SWAT works with the following devices to give you "Peace of Mind" protection:
Control Equipment: DMP and GE Security (Formerly Caddx)
Detection devices: Door and window contacts - both urface mount and concealed, Motion Detectors - Passive Infrared, Dual Technology (Passive Infrared linked with Microwave), Photoelectric Beams (erroneously named "Laser beams", Stress detection (detects stretching or bending of certain metal devices, such as fences), Safe alarms - both contact and vibration, Hold-up devices, Panic devices, Wireless devices - all of the above may be wireless, plus there are wireless panic buttons, medical alerts, multi-button devices may signal the alarm to open doors, turn on lights, and make your life easier
Annunciation devices to alert you: Lights, Sirens, Horns, Strobes, Buzzers, Piezo sounders, Bells, Whistles, Voice alerts - may announce fire so there is no question or burglary, or High Water, or Carbon Monoxide, or whatever you wish it to say
DEVICES INSTALLED AND SERVICED:
I was on the scene of this fire, which had no smike detection system.
The above fire was not detected until it was too late. The Fire Chief said that if an alarm with early-detection smoke detectors had been installed, his department would have responded, and possibly have saved a total loss.
